Help!
Plans for Large T-33 or P-80

Hello everyone:

I have decided that one of my next projects will be a T-33 or P-80. I do not plan on buying one of the kits on the market and plan on building one from plans. My preference is to build from plans of planes that have successfully flown.

Sooo, I am looking for plans (either free of for nominal cost) for a T-33 or P-80 that I can scale up if necessary. I am hoping to build one of about 100" + span. Does anyone have a set of plans? If so please PM me. IF anyone knows of a designer that might offer something, please post a link or contact info.

Thanks in advance,
Ed

Check out the very last plane on this page. I'm not sure if you can even buy just the plan or what. You would have to scale up the plans though to the size you are talking about.

Now if you are pretty creative you could try to scale this plan which seems to be pretty dang good.

Steve :

Thanks for pointing me to the www.hippocketaeronautics.com website, registered and downloaded a number of the plans. I downloaded the Jim Bell designs (P-80, an A-4 which looks a lot like the plans from the RBC kit, two different versions of the F-4, and a set of plans for the Bell X-5).
Thanks again for the link.

Frank:
I have looked at their website and have sent an e -mail to Christine with some questions. Reluctant to buy plans if none of their have been successfully flown. Will post when I hear back from them.

In 2005 or 06, I built a T33 from plans generously supplied by fellow Ezoner Ed Waldrep. It was a 70 mm size but he also had a bigger version for a 90 mm fan

You should be able to find him in this forum

I have a friend who is using old Cleveland P-80 plans for basic outlines and designing from them. He's having a custom EDF unit made for it and will install retracts, etc. He has done the same in designing and building a number of electric powered propeller warbirds based on Cleveland plans. The P-80 is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful jet fighter plane designs. Another friend has been flying an old Kyosho T-33 for a long time now with brushless EDF and lipo power.
