I've read posts on using a watt meter. I've assembled my very first electric park flier, rimfire 400 motor,25A Esc, and need to know where to get a watt meter and voltmeter for a 3S Lipo.
I also need to know what does the watt meter's reading tell me?

A watt meter will tell you Watt, Peak Watt, Amp, Peak Amp, Voltage, etc' you system is drawing. This helps you match ESC to motor, choose correct prop (to ensure you are not drawing more than ESC/motor can handle), Match output to batteries discharge rates, and more... So once you measure, make sure the values you get are within the spec of the batteries/ESC/motor.
These are essential tools....

Cheapest most likely from Ebay / Hobby King online.
But available via Hobby Shop as well as online.
I paid about $30 for my Wattmeter incl. shipping of ebay.
Most of the wattmeters in that oprice range are pretty well same items but just rebranded.
What does it give ?
Battery pack condition .. ie % charge remaining.
Individual cell voltages
Tells you if pack is unbalanced
Balances a pack without use of charger
Displays Watts / Amps / Volts when motor run
To be honest - a Voltmeter is not so essential if you have the Wattmeter .. but is useful for other checking of leads / contacts etc. A simple Multimeter from local DIY shop is good enough.
The Wattmeter is one of my most used pieces of equipment. I always check my LiPo's prior to charging ... check remaining after flight ...

Warning: When you test that, only run the motor at full throttle for a couple of seconds, just long enough to read the display. If you run it for too long, you can burn it up because it is working harder when you are holding the plane still.
