New Product
New HobbyKing F-14 Tomcat??

So, looks like HobbyKing might have a new F-14 Tomcat being released!
This was posted on Facebook about an hour ago!

Wonder if it's totally new or a rerelease?

Doesn't look like the new Taft F-14.

Could be they obtained a container load of the old 60mm F-14 or the Starmax 70mm V2....

Ideas?

It looks to small for a twin 70mm, the taft f-14 wont be out for another couple of month I guess...

Looks to small for a twin 70mm. I would dig a single 70mm to save on weight, ya know with all the extra swing-wing equipment.

that is an art-tech twin 55mm tomcat for sure.

got four of them my self.

Here is me flying the same bird, black nights scheme.

Arte tech F14 Tomcat twin 55mm on 3s (5 min 20 sec)

I removed the gear handlaunch it.

It is with out a doubt the best tomcat foamie frame for sale.

Under powered in stock form.

Want to get it fast, convert it to a pusher!

art tech f-14 fast (0 min 0 sec)

At 55mm you could go 2 hyperflows with 2 Dons Wicked 4800 on 4S and it will go for sure. I would also be hand launching which would save weight. How much batt room?

colinski would there be enough thrust with your Pusher Prop to keep the LG in her?

I just maidened my 6mmflyrc F-14 this weekend. I'm running a 2836 with 8X6 prop. and she was fast. I have a starmax 70mm one I need to finish up and maiden. Like yours, I would love to get this kit and put a PP on it, but I want to leave the LG on only for landings.

Yeah, Art-Tech model for sure. Flew mine in stock form for about 10 flights before hitting a telephone poll. Its actually a very beautiful and scale model....personally I agree with Colinski in the fact its the best looking/most scale Tomcat out there so far. Definitely underpowered in its stock form (when Art Tech released it).

Hi,

Sure, I flew mine of the beach that way.

The stock landing gear is not strong, but you can bend your own quite easily.

here is a vid:

Pitty it's so small. Would love one in a larger size. Maybe freewing will do one soon.

Well, looks like it may just be the Art-Tech F-14.
But it has Twin 50mm EDF's, not the twin 55mm EDF's the Art-Tech came with.
So maybe they (HK) have repowered it.
No rudders,
Sweeping wings,
Steering nose wheel,
Fixed landing gear!

Since this post it has been confirmed there was a typo in the original item listing. It read twin 50mm EDF's , but has been corrected to twin 55mm EDF's

Little pricey, you could get a new 80mm FW for that with shipping?

Bit steep in price....question is..how well does it fly with wings folded??? twin 50mm..you'd have to go 4s to have decent performance..You'd expect retracts for that price...lol..Freewing A-10 with twin 64mm & 4s for that type of money & retracts....

Is it just me or do the wings when "fully" extended not look fully extended?

I'm really thinking of turning a blind eye to the price and just ordering one of these, it's using 50mm fans and an F-14! Two of my weak points!

I have several SkyAngel 50mm power plants laying around and would love to see how they compare to what's in this frame.
