"M" version is wrong.Wrong calculated speed (RPM) is 2x more.(Gompy technology the ENTERPRISE?) http://static.rcgroups.com/forums/im...es/biggrin.gif

My RPM 0-15000 (400-15000 FW version "K")
800-30000 FW version "M"
Error What I showed in the video was between 920-930RPM version of "K"
Now 1840-1860RPM

The good news-I added OPTOCOUPLER to pin5 and freezing is completely stopped. Testing of HV plate (version "K", "M")

You passed the test! You need to configure the following

#define VERSION "CDI-2012_12F1840_PJT v2.M Cam \0"

/***********************Configure your system setup here ********************/

#define Sensor_Location Cam //= Crank or Cam
#define Init_Hall_Angle 63 //Enter in true degrees angle MUST be 10deg more than max advance required
#define Do_Kill_Switch True // enable kill switch on pin 4
#define Init_fixed_adv 4 //initial fixed advance value in DD's
#define Start_Throttle 6 //Include your servo setting for starting ('u' command)
#define Rev_Limit 7500 // in RPM
#define Baud_Rate 207 // Set your Baud Rate Control 207=19,200, 103=38400, 68=57600, 51=76800,16=115.2k, 15=128000
/***********************Configure your system setup here ********************/

Or if you are using the excel based simulator set the "cam' checkbox

It depends where you have your sensor located most will have 'crank' but my engine has the sensor on the cam. I didn't cahnge it in this version, in the other versions I posted I did.

Hi

I've just been talking to Jake. The next thing on our list is a GUI and yours is just what we need to link the V2 code to the outside world. It will allow us to remove the terminal code from the PIC to get some space for more features

Send Jake and me a PM and we can hook up on how we can go about this.

CheeseE's software seems to work well with the 16f628A pic chip. If there is a similar bootloader available for the 1840 chip, maybe his gui can be ported over , and used as an alternative system without all the extra features. The older timer board and my hv board work well together after setting timing and delays. I probably will make a test video shortly and post it.

I'd like to take a look at it but not keen to sign up to a subscription I don't need.

People aren't keen on signing up to your service provider. Can we post your two files here for the others to use?

Pete, it didn't make me sign up. I just hit the menu symbol in the upper right corner and it took me right to the download section with the two files. When I got the files, I had to rename the hex file and re save it as hex. The other file is the install file. After installing it, I hit the desktop icon. I think it took a full two minutes to actually come up on the screen but it worked. You'll have to reset your comport back to 9600 baud for it to communicate with both serial port and programming adapter. I programmed the bootloader hex file into the chip and inserted it into one of the older timer boards that ran with either an external crystal or a resonator. I edited the numbers in the rpm & advance table on the screen, making my curve and sensor placement, and after that I hooked the timer board up and hit connect. Then hit program button and it sent the data to the chip. Rpm and advance screens reflected my changes. Haven't run the engine with it yet but it's getting close.

I think if we had CheeseE's timer schematic for inputs, outputs and chip pinouts we could test it correctly.

Something has changed then as the link takes me to a CSA Electronics page, could not see any menu in the top right corner,hit download and the two files are there but when one clicks those, it take one to File Dropper and from there to a Paypal page.
Tried the web page listed but it comes back as some web hosting site.
