OK, so I'm pretty much done the build... Servos, linkages, Rx, and I'm just getting the battery prepped now... I have just one step left I'm wondering about, and I'm far too lazy to re-read the entirety of this thread so I'm just gonna ask...

What's been the preferred method for making a removable tail?

I've followed the thread from the start, and I'm pretty sure most of the Aussies have been epoxying the tail, and then sheering it off with a tree branch on landing. Removed!

Lmao! Well ya that's probably still to come for mine! I'm just trying to concieve of a way to pack it down flat... Blind nuts in the bottom of the tail with countersunk machine screws up from the bottom of the wing maybe?

No. You want to to come off if you take a tumble. I would not screw it on or epoxy it. You'll break it. LOL.

Ok that's a fair observation... Plus, if I'm honest, I've broken all my other slopers at some point, so it's a difficult logic to argue!

Maybe a little (and I mean little) Sikaflex under it just for backup, but it sounds like tape is the currently leading solution...

A couple small dabs of foam tac under fin and tape on top, firm enough to bump it good during transport, loose enough to come off in a cartwheel...
My giz light is so dialed right now, I am not looking forward to the tail coming off and having to tune it this perfect again, tiny pieces of lead taped to bottom of fin at back of wing. Small pieces, like less then 3mm square to really fine tune it. It will fly really well when close, but when cg and rates mate, agh airgazim

Airgazim ha ha made me laugh

If your DSing , any type silicon , sikaflex or goop or epoxy ( sand both sides if your epoxy ins). due to tape not up to the gizforce at 150mph barrel rolling out of the bottom turn
CA is not up to the task due to being to brittle.

Front side tape is fine , although a piece of double sided tape underneath and some clear tape for the edges is best , as you don't want any movement or twist in the tail. This will reduce handling.
Even a couple of small blobs of sikaflex underneath you can peel the tail off if you need to.
