***New Product*** Walkera G-2D Brushless, thoughts?

Hi Guys,

I've been looking for my first gimbal and have come across this...

http://goo.gl/3GVejo

It's available online from $99.99, I'm considering taking a risk on it to use with my Hero 2 (I presume I can add spacers to accommodate the larger depth vs the GoPro 3.

Any input appreciated!

I saw that too and that fact that it's quite light was appealing. if the controller turned out to be rubbish you could easily put a cheap AlexMos board on there as the motors would be fairly standard.

One thing that's confusing is you can't tell if the rubber dampers are in compression or in suspension. In some pictures they are clearly in suspension - the arm mounts to the bottom plate and the dampers are stiffer with lines around them, but in a few others, the arm is mounted to the top plate (better) and the dampers are the smooth, softer ones you get on a Tarot gimbal. I'd prefer that if it could be confirmed.

Also, being very light, could easily be converted to 3-axis without adding too much extra weight - about 80g for a motor and some extra plates and an additional controller. Or swap the 2-axis controller for one of the new mini 3-axis ones and it would be even lighter and simpler.

Just got my new G-2D gimbal. It worked for about 5 minutes. Then it jerked all over the place and now the LED does nothing but flash green. It will not initialize at all. Seems pretty dead. Any ideas?

And, now it works. Went to dinner and when I got back, plugged in the gimbal again. It started working. Seems it just needed to sit for a bit to loose all memory and reboot. No clue. Just glad it's working properly now.

Not much of a movie maker, but here is a video as requested. The gimble seems to work well. Will know more after I test it in flight and see the video.

I just received my G-2D today. Does anyone know of a source for or perhaps, has a 3d printer to make and sell me, an extended bracket to mount the deeper GoPro2 vs the stock bracket for the GoPro3? I'm thinking about using rubber bands to keep it in the back tray, but would feel more comfortable with a screwed in bracket.

I bought one and have been testing it for about a week. Im not 100% happy, but cant complain too much since it was $100. Im having trouble calibrating it....which is pretty loose in the manual. Maybe its just me being a little slow, but the manual describes to let lights flash and turn knobs to adjust gain and such, but the gimbal doesn't respond to any adjustments really. It acts like it wants to be factory tuned and not user tuned. Very touchy

Does anyone know how to just reset and start over? I feel like my adjustments made it worse.

You do have a camera installed when powering up, right? I found mine did OK straight away, but had to do minor adjustment with a GoPro2 attached to setup straight and level.

I connected my G-2D gimbal today with my Walkera X350 Pro and well its kind of jerking around a lot,not responding to the DEVO 10 Pit and Roll controlling knobs at all.... its in "sw 1" position, i havent connected any camera on it yet as i just wanted to see if it works fine or not,and i havent tinkered with the v1/v2 knobs as well..... the green light is stable meaning initialization is complete
