Well, she flies!! Had two short flights, both ending in dead stick landings. Something wrong with my fuel system, or I have a clogged line/filter somewhere. More gremlins to work out, but she flies sooo nice and majestic. Gonna be fun

Congrats, Steve.

It sometimes takes awhile to get the bugs worked out.

Flights 4,5, and 6 today. When I took out the fuel tank, I noticed the clunk had fallen off inside. So the tygon fuel line expanded inside the tank and fell off, that solved the fuel draw mystery.

Got her to the field today, and when I was putting gas into the tank, it was flowing out at the same time Dumb dumb me again, I hooked up the vent tube to the wrong brass tube So an easy fix at the field, after taking out the fuel tank again. Flight 6 was 10 mins. Now I can say the gremlins are gone, and she's becoming fun

I'm glad that you are becoming at ease when flying the T-craft.

I was just becoming comfortable with mine when I blew up the motor.

I'll bet she looks majestic in the air. Great looking bird, I'm sure she is worth the effort.

Thanks guys. Yes, she is well worth the effort, as most things are, if you put in the time.

Tom- Blew up your motor? you mean electric?

Yup. Electric. The output shaft, prop and all, is MIA. The magnets are grinding inside the case.

Nobody at our field had ever seen (or heard) anything like it.

Did you remove the collar on the props haft behind the motor? Only thing I can think of. Last summer I has a couple magnets come loose and the motor was making a gracing noise. I was able to re-glue the magnets to the outer bell using epoxy. Works fine now. Some of the cheap Chinese motors use low quality glue to the magnets and they can't stand the heat.

I didn't remove anything, Steve. They were missing when I landed the T-Clips, though.

I have a replacement ordered, and if I can find the receipt, I'll contact Maxx Products and see what they have to say.

The little Himax had plenty of zip. I hope the new motor does, too.
