The Sig Wonder is ok if built very light, maybe punch a few holes. I have a .10 on a Misflit which was a magazine plan from the 1980's. It works ok but would be better with the lighter servos that are more available now. Also any 2 meter glider would work as a conversion. I had one that was my favourite plane until the wing folded up. It was my best lawn dart - slow wing flutter down crash so far. Probably took close to a minute for the whole crash to be over. A SPAD .15 size plane may work good. Then there is a glut of control line airplanes. An F2D combat kit is about $50 and will go fine with a .10.

The "Small Wonder," RCM Plan #673, from the January, 1977, issue of RCM. It's a nice-looking parasol-wing model, 46" span/320"^2, for .09--.15 glow and three channels. I built one years ago and it was a nice flyer at 32 oz. with my OS .10 FSR.

I've got an unbuilt HOB 2x2, 2 meter glider. It would be very easy to mount an OS .10 R/C or Enya .09 R/C on it, by simply removing the balsa block nose cone and mount engine to the ply behind it. Did you use any downthrust and possibly also right thrust so it would track okay?

Oddly enough I was just thinking about putting a .10 on my 2x2 when a guy in the club volunteered to tow up some gliders. I had to add a lot of weight to the nose and thought a .10 would be nice, and do some good. The .049's barely worked on the 2 meter planes, and we need mufflers which suck the power from the .049's. I didn't build the one that the wing sheared on and it is long gone, so couldn't say about the thrust. I still have the motor and some gliders. I would put in a couple of degrees down and right thrust though. It sort of needs a throttle servo too. Electric gives a second option for landing. I saw a guy stunting profusely with a Gentle Lady at a fun fly with a .10. His didn't break the wing.

There was a plane called the Gnat which was a full sized plan inside an issue of Model Airplane News about 20 years ago. It was designed around the OS max .10 from that era. More of a pattern plane than sport type but it did fly quite well and was easy to build. If your interested, PM me, I should still have the plans around my shop somewhere.

Thanks for the offer George, but I am more of a sport flyer than pattern flyer. I have a couple other unbuilts in the queue, which are .10 power. The 2x2 appeals to me, because it would be a relaxed form of flying, without the hassle of an upstart launcher.

The Gnat was a biplane, for a .010 not a .10, and was any thing but pattern.
Unless there is two Gnats, it is possible.

Then there is the SPAD Gnat. Made of coroplast. More for a .15, but a bit of trimming with tinsnips could work on a .10. Who has the patent on the name?

Oh, I suppose if it were iGnat, Apple would have have it patented.

George, although I am not a pattern flyer, that plane does seem a simple build and would not take long for one to get it flying.
