I was reading a thread one day and the fellow had asked "How do you guys get planes with 100's of flights on them?" It was an excellent read.

(This is actually a paraphrase of what MT was sayin )

An old man answered and said..." When I taxi out to the flight line its just like a real airplane. I stop and start checking EVERYTHING as I prepare for takeoff. Surfaces, direction, engine performance etc. When I am ready to advance the throttle for take off the last thing I ask myself is would I be willing to get inside this plane and take off?

If the answer is "no" then go back to the pits and fix it

That is an excellent way of looking at it!! Thank you bro! Balsabuster taught me that way, and he told me in the very beginning to develop a good safety routine and don't deviate from it. I deviated once.....he was there to call 911, thankfully.

I have advised many folks to abort their take-off and re-examine their planes. Some do, some don't, some should have.

That said, I have actually checked my ailerons to ensure they are moving fully and smooth and missed the fact that they were reversed.

I do check most of the time, even if it does no good.

Flew her?!! Heck, I even autographed her!! That is one ugly plane!! If you entered her in an ugly plane contest they would say "sorry, no professionals"!!
