Anybody used non-stock 3 blade props on the stock spinner? If anybody has recommendations that have worked would appreciate it.

The GWS 7x3.5x3 works OK, but only on 3s. You can use the stock nut and a couple 3mm washers to space it off the motor. Don't need the middle piece of you do it this way.

Don't think that is necessary. I get perfect CG with my Admiral 1300mah 3s in the battery compartment, just moved back about 10-20mm. I also have the Orange Gyro receiver.

No issues here with 3s 1300.

I have had luck with the 3S 1000mah from Admiral. Pushed forward. And a couple (4) quarters glued to the foam nose under the cowl...

You probably haven't changed out your motor to a heavier 3-4S with a 40-amp esc.

I was very impressed with your description and photo documentation of your effort to obtain more mAh for your more powerful motor/ESC system. Not only did you illustrate the placement of your parts (very helpful for those wishing to duplicate), but your approach reflects your willingness to THINK OUT OF THE BOX. Yea, I really like that. Keep your ideas and your sharing comin. I'm lovin it.

Thanks, VJ. Not totally new thoughts on my part, but the result of spending the winter on forums! The FMS T-28, which I am assuming that is just like the Airfield--if not the same rebranded--has a cg at 45mm rearward from the forward tip of the wing at the fuselage. On my plane, it's dead center of the front (student) pilot. This is what I was shooting at trying to hit that balance point. By experimenting with shifting the 1300mah battery, the 1000mah battery it would not hit the mark. So, I saw the area underneath the canopy and saw that my 500mah fit. That's what got me to trying it and it works great. I'm now contemplating putting in aircraft lights, but can't decide if I want to add another more weight to the already fine flyer. I'm sure I will, but I want flaps, too, so hey. Can pigs fly?
