I just got the Iris 9x today. It has been modified to display telemetry from the installed DJT module. Very clean mod! The data connector on the DJT is used to avoid having to mod the the module as well as cut traces on the 9x back pin board. I used this method at the last for those wanting to move their modules to other band Tx's. I like the miniature rs232 board used for data interfacing as well as powering it from the 5volts from the DJT's data connector. Less wires from the 9x main board for 5v and ground. There's also a servo connector to allow case half separation.
They removed the smd resistors in pins 2 and 3 and added maybe 1/8 watt ones in shrink and used fine insulated solid wire. Very clean! They also used solder points I haven't used this way.
The fw is a modified er9x and I'll be flashing that at some point to et9x and then with the host fw for the new SP board later.
I'm guessing they used a board like SP that screwed in place to program the CPU or some form of chip clip? Any ideas there as I see no evidence of a programmer being soldered to it and removed? It would appear to be a m64 as is common. It looks like a v2 board so that's great!
Here are some pictures in case they can help with DIY wiring for telemetry, but no programming connections.
I really think I got a great deal. I didn't get a module I can't use, but instead one I can and will! I'm all Frsky already. Plenty of D receivers.
Off to give the seller all 5 stars or what ever is the best!
