Thanks for the tip - noticed it had a bit more tendancy to nose dive just by fitting a better propeller as well

Propeller for the Axion 139

Dear Davey,

I just bought an Axion 139 on my last trip to London to bring it to Brazil (2 weeks ago). I'm completely new to aeromodelism and as expected I already destroyed the 2 props after some crashes. So, I need to look for new props.

Can you tell me the specs of this props so I can search for replacements here in Rio de Janeiro. Do you have other suggestions about different types of props to put on this plane. I didnt change anything on the plane, so all components are the original ones.

Your assistance will be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Eduardo

Exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks!

Could give an indication of the location you place the battery/ESC/Receipter. Im pretty sure that I screwed up when trying to locate the CG of the plane.

Regards,

the park 250 works nicely (this is what my mate uses), you just have to mount it on the outside ..

I ended up using one of the purple unbranded inrunners you find on ebay..

check out item 270966653455

And it survived quite well

Basically just find a low KV in runner wiht a 2.3mm shaft.

I used a 30A ESC from my WOT-4 Foamie and a 3S 2200 LiPo (Overlander 25C). Motor and prop are stock. It runs great and has plenty of power.

HOWEVER...

Don't launch it with full power - the stock setup has too much downthrust on a 3S and it will just dive into the ground. Best to launch at 1/2 throttle with a firm throw, then throttle up slowly.

Axion Alpha 139 esc problem?

Hi,

I have literally got this plane 2 weeks ago, due to high winds lately have only got to fly it twice. I went out earlier today being it was calm but for some reason the motor wouldnt power up. the rudder and elevator servos both work fine. Looking at it the esc w/bec has a red light that intermittently comes on (this should be on solid). Also occasionally when the light flashes on the motor sometimes powers up to full speed, or has really quick start-stops (twitching). Either this happens or nothing at all, with no motor beep. Just wondering whether anyone has any ideas as to what the problem may be before i travel back to the shop. I assume itll need replacing but hoping it doesnt as its only been flown twice.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

David

Is it a brushed or brushless model?

The brushed model suffers from ESC failures
