Question
450XT for a warbird?

Hey, all- I've been researching motors and this esskay/skatty/or whatever one looks like it might be just the ticket for a slightly porky GWS warbird. I've got a 400XT on it now with an 8x6 and I'm just not quite comfortable with the way it flies.

Any of you using a 450XT on your warbirds?

What prop, airplane, and weight?

Thanks!

Turbo 450 XT...

Great motors..!!I was so impressed with the test data I bought 2 of 'em and I use one in my 18 oz. SmoothE with 1320 TP Prolites. It produces over 180 watts with a 10X8 GWS hyperdrive prop and it will go verticle for about 200 feet.Well made motor and you should get one,to try on your warbird.I was thinking of installing the other on my Corsair.

Nice!

I'm hoping to pair it with a 3 blade prop to get a scale appearance. Whatcha think?

450 XT with...

a three blader..??Sure,just check the amp draw and keep it below 15-16 amps static and you'll be fine. These motors are waaay powerfull, how much does you GWS warbird weigh..??Glassed ones are usually 22-24 ozs, and the 450XT with make 'em fly fast.

Mine's 19. I prefer the FKS prop, but I think the draw will be a little high on that one- since a 10x6 hits it just about right, I think a 9x6x3 should do well, look better static, and let me run shorter gear. We'll see!
