Is it legal to ask for a persons age or date of birth on a club membership applicatio

Didn't know where else to post this but I was wondering. Is it legal to ask for a persons age or date of birth on a club membership application?

Nope.
The age and/or Date of birth can be used for legal purposes. An example would be that to have correct insurance coverage on flyers at your field. Knowing if children are capable of flying but require adult supervision might be a requirement of your insurer. Therefore you would have to know who can legally fly solo (being an adult of age 18 or 21 depending) and who requires to have an adult member present.

You're asking in the wrong place. Ask a lawyer. They'll usually give you a quick and accurate answer without charge.

Too many lawyers in this country....who cares...just ask for age and date of birth or give yours. If people don't like it they can find another club. Let's be practical about living life and not get paralyzed by trying to be politically correct.

So how does all that add up to "Nope"? It sounds like your answer is actually "Yes, it's legal."
