GOT a new project Shelly foss

HEY THERE I am looking for ideas /sudjustions / paint colors and water line colors Been a wile since I have doen a large tug. So I can use pictures as well. I pick this up a wile back from the wifes famly . I have to finish it and then MY wife and I will have a pair of tugs to run together . Hers is an Amsterdam that I got back in the 90s and rebuilt it . So far on this one I have had to re a line the prop shafts sand down the hull and reseal it . Still have to do some touch up on of the paint . Still trying to decide If I want to stay to this color. THEN I have to install motors and all hard wear. YUP MY work is cut out for me . SO I am open to all and any thing any one want to send my way to give me some ideas for this one. Thank you DON THE Portland Rustbucket.

Can paint as originally built, go with one of the unusual paint schemes they put on her like in 1976 to celebrate the bicentennial, go with the new Manson colors ( red and white), or go off the grid and builders choice.

Shelly Foss renamed for Manson, Nancy M., with push knees added for working the 520 floating bridge pieces.

TIME TO move on soon after it sets ups .
Thanks Umi I Ilike those push bars never thought about that one . Those gives me something to think about.. I may set mind up that way.?. NOT sure on how that Cruser got on must have hit the wrong picture.
To bad there was not Foss pushing it ;-) That would have made it worth it but then maybe there was ;-)))

It paints up real nice in the Nancy M color scheme.
The tires and bumpers are from Umi.

Here's my version of the the 36" Shelly; "BOXER". Single shaft, changed the stack, planked the deck. Fittings came from harbor Models, and the parts box. Colors are very light gray/hunter green rattlecans. Wish I hadn't got rid of this one .

There are still a few Foss tugs on the Columbia and Willamette.
I think four boats. Two are stationed across from the mouth of the Willamette, and
the other two wander about. They usually are tasked to assisting bulkers up to terminal 4.

My vote is for black hull, dark red/hull red below waterline (if at all) and gray decks... Not sure about the superstructure. Reds and blues would be nice.

HEY I like all of the tugs that all of you have shared with me . I look over the tug in her rig working colors and after a few people said they like the green and white I decided . Besides my wife likes it so that helps a lot ;-)) So I am doing it in THE STOCK GREEN and white. I did put it in the tub about a hour ago . IT will need some weight for sure to get it down . To a water line that will be come black like my Amsterdam . I am slowly getting the hard work done and most of the paint work . I am going to have to back off of it soon . FOR MY lungs are telling about it and yes I do use a painters mast so It will go on the shelf for a little wile ;-(( I will get some more pictues soon . Looking forward of running it along the Speical K .

THE Amsterdam tug

This is the oldest ship in my fleet . Had to rebuild her back in the late 90s . ONE OF my first rebuilds . Later years I gave it to Diane my wife and she did some repainting on it . So mind is just about the same size it is going to be fun later this summer.
