Goblin 630 comp

Hi all, I have a 630 comp kit with Quantum 560 v2 motor, BK HV servos, IKON fbl, YEP 120a esc. Im going to run a 2s lipo to run the electronics.
I have been looking for people who have the G 630 comp but only seen to find 700 and 770 or all the others. G 630 owners welcome for discussion on the G 630 comp.

yeah, you will notice a enormous difference in size going from a 450 to a 630.
The 450 will look like a little child's toy to in comparison. You will notice a huge difference in flying too, the 630 will be so much easier rather like flying with time running in slow motion.

Kinda kicking myself that I missed out on the one i was going for but on the other hand it might be for the best because I have more helis than I can fly and already have two at 600 size.

Enjoy your build!

I have a 630C also, and absolutely love it! Scorpion 4225-610 motor (21t pulley for 1750-2150-2350 headspeeds), Castle Edge 120hv, AR7200BX (soon installing an iKon to try out), ProTek 270 servos, MS Composit 630 mains, and Edge 105SE tails. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

The one I'm getting is used, but if i believe the original owner has only flown twice. According to shipment tracking it's 'loaded on a van for delivery', so I should have it shortly.

Spec is reasonable:
Scorpion HKIII-4035- 560Kv
Castle Edge 120HV
AR7200BX
Gryphon BEC
Align DS615/655 servos
SAB blades

I may decide to upgrade the servos to HV some time in the future and will probably change the FBL controller just due to personal preference/famliarity but otherwise it appears to be fine. Photos of the heli made it look like new so fingers crossed it's as good as I hope. If not I got it for a good enough price that a could fix a few things and still be doing ok on the deal.

The G630 arrived safely. i just did a quick trial assembly to see how she looks, see photo attached.

Overall I'm delighted. The tail boom did pick up a small chip in transit but it's tiny and will be all but invisible if i can find some matching yellow paint to touch it up, nothing that wouldn't have happened in use over time anyway.

She's quite a big old bird, noticeably larger than my Trex and Kasama 600 helis. Very much a middle ground between a 600 and a 700.

Had to do a quick double take then, at first glance I thought you had received a 570, the colours are very similar. You won't regret the Goblin, they are outstanding, here's a sneaky shot of my 570.

JetPlaneFlyer - looks great! Be sure to keep tabs on the two bolts that secure the (front lower) boom attach point, and the two nylon bolts on the top side. SAB includes a small plastic socket that is intended to be used by hand when tightening the two nylon bolts. Typically, if you support the boom by hand while tightening them, you'll run them down all the way and then have to go another 1/2 flat or so (of the bolt head) to get them in alignment so the carbon lock plate fits down over them.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the tip on the nylon bolts. The lock plate had not been installed, it was just in the bag with various 'spare' parts (including the wrench for the nylon bolts). I was wondering what the plate was for but now all is clear!

Hi all, nice looking helis!!!!! I've started my Goblin 630 comp build, all going very well up to now that is..... I'm just wondering about how to wire up the 2s lipo to the WR linear bec to the ikon. If i put the bec and the 2s lipo from the rear skid alloy plate, they end up right behind where the YEP 120a esc goes, so room is a bit of a premium, What i am asking is can you go lipo to the bec to power ikon then servos and esc??
P.S, my 630 comp is the same color as yours Jetplaneflyer, looks awsome!!!!!

Mine is set up with an HV BEC (Gryphon Quasar) running direct from the flight packs. If you run HV (8.4V) servos you can power off a 2s LiPo direct with no BEC, so with the BK servos you will be able to do that no problem.

PS.. in case you missed it in the other thread here's one of the early flights of my 630 (limited by pilot skills shortfall, not the heli)
Another flight of my Goblin 630 Comp (6 min 19 sec)
