My Mini is back together with the new servo and everything cleaned up.

Water-tested in bathtub for 30mins, no water intrusion.

Self-righting test.....it wasn't 100% righting reliably so I added another 1/4oz on the outside tip and that proved 100% reliable. Again, no water intrusion over this testing.

Some quick function checking in the tub water with the motor, and there was some minor water intrusion when I opened it up. Only thing I see is that perhaps some water was coming up the drive shaft. Will have to keep an eye on that once I get her out on the open water again.

I have a friend. After end of the race he removes 0.2-0.3 lts water from the boat.
If inside his boat has no water it is something wrong with him.

We put toilet paper on the bottom in case any water enter to not free splash

Ran mine again for a couple or so packs over last weekend, getting a feel for what it is doing. Lots of flipping, plenty of subbing on turns......some of it due to some rough water, some of it not. The nice thing is that self-righting is working great, as is the hull being sealed up. Very, very little water inside despite plenty of trips underwater and upside down.

Definitely a quick little boat and ran really well in spots, heard some of the up/down RPM sounds that chidago discussed earlier in the thread, so appears to definitely need some work to smooth out the hull. Not dialed in. I'll try to get video up later.

Sigh.........due to an unfortunate incident with an accidental drop by my youngest *trying* to be helpful.........anyone know where a spare rudder could be procured?

We do the mechanical parts (shaft rudders couplings…..) ourselves.
Our rudders rod have angle so we can not use the original made by Tenshock

The boat is Ok if you use like a toy on small speed
Any time you setup it over 8-9 m/s, you need to have it stable on the water. Banging or flip –flops are generating stresses, overloads ………
Also as I said before it is a huge difference if you have your boat running alone or in group with other on triangle.

I know I'll get a lot of different answers. What rudder servo does everyone use for Mini ECO, and why?

I use MKS-ds95MG
As i said before the rudder is not for steering gear only but for control the drift and stabilize the boat in the turns

it is a time for assembling new boats.
It is also unfortunate situation that the racers are waiting the rules changes.

Waiting on a couple props to arrive from hydromarine and then try.

Tried one prop and the boat was much more stable since it wasn't a lifter like the stock prop, so I was impressed with the handling and stability now. But it isn't sized right as the boat was significantly slower.
