Oh yeah, that was one of our best rounds ever. It really was snowing foam. I believe Dave knocked two people out and Death Wing literally flew through someone at one point, and kept going. I took a really quick look at the videos; some close calls but the highlight was me bumping a wounded Mike Winstead out of the air. We've got dinner plans with some friends tonight; will see if I can start working on the video if we don't get back too late.

When someone knocked my motor off the Popwing, the video is vomit-inducing with the back-and-forth as the Popwing fluttered to the ground!

Guys, the spare Popwing arrived yesterday. Donations are not required but are welcome. I'll bring it to the field with me every time I go out there.

If I fly tomorrow, I'll bring the Popwing. I'll also bring the spare. Or are the crops too high now for combat?

I just happen to have a complete spare Popwing. Bought one on sale. It's the ARF so it's everything (airframe, motor, ESC, servos). Make a donation and the motor is yours.

The cotton is too high now to have Popwing combat sessions and have any reasonable chance to find all of the remains of fallen/destroyed/blown-to-pieces aircraft. It looks like no combat until the harvest...

I know we're kind of on hold with Popwing combat, but thought I'd share a online deal. Nitroplanes is currently holding a Free Shipping deal on specific items, and two of those items just happen to be the 35" WS Popwings. They are $70, which is still about $5 higher than the sale price we usually catch them at. However, Nitroplanes charges outrageous shipping fees so this is quite the deal. Just wanted to pass it along. Don't know how long it will last. Link is here - http://www.nitroplanes.com/freeship.html

P.S. - Not that you can't buy your own Popwing of course, but don't forget I have a spare Popwing at the house, meant to the cannibalized for parts as the need arises. It's the ARF, so I have all the electronics too (motor, servos, ESC).

I mentioned in the other thread that I had Popwing Light Envy, so I decided to do something about it. I bought a new battery (TP 3s 1300 45C) as the Hyperion battery seemed to be getting a little tired... guess there is but only so many times a battery can fall from 30 ft. into a plowed cotton field. Of course I didn't measure the dimensions of the battery before I ordered which means it was time to hog out some foam. I couldn't exactly do that on my NF Popwing because of the wooden nose (affectionately referred to as The Battering Ram by someone who will remain nameless *cough*Chuck*cough*). I've been meaning to replace the nose for a while now, and due to the battery, I was now committed. Pics of my progress so far are below.
