20+ min flight time build?

Hey guys, I've been into multi rotors for quite some time now, but I'm getting annoyed with the short flight times of my 350qx. I like the status of the DJI phantom, but I don't like the fact that I have to use their battery and their radio. So, I'd like to build my own quad copter so I can have a little bit more freedom with my own equipment. I'll be carrying a Go pro and a transmitter on the quad as well. So could someone list me a couple of parts that will help me reach my goal? My budget is $750.00

Thank you!

900-1000kv 22mm stator motors. 9-10" props. H pattern quad for space to hold electronics, place camera out of view of props and have a natural space to mount battery and offset the weight of camera. Keeping the weight of everything close to 1200grams.

I fly DJI 920KV, 1038 props and 9445 props
With 4S 4000mah 25C Zippy, I consistently get 19-21minutes of pretty aggressive flying around in ATTI mode. 4S 8000mah 30C Zippy, I can do 25-30minutes (this is still quite controllable, but with a 400gram gimbal/gopro, I feel it won't be very safe to fly) I mostly fly this way to demonstrate flight controller modes to people and be able to impress people by casually chatting while the quad is in the sky. With a video transmitter, go pro gimbal attached, 4000mah 4S is getting me about 15 minutes solid.

My goto setup at the moment, is X8 920KV, 1038 props top and bottom. SOLID feeling flying characteristics. Ease of mind in redundancy of motor failure. 4S 4000Mah gets me 10minutes of gimbal/gopro/video tx. 8000mah 4s is about 15-17 minutes.

3S 5000mah is what the Phantom is flying on. Its probably wise to follow that for best efficiency and motor longevity.

Sorry for the late reply, but what frame are you using so I can clone your build?

My frames are unconventional at the moment. The X8 is using a DJI F550 frame, the stance is like the configuration of a 3DR Iris. The gimbal doesn't have to be mounted so far forward and I get no props in view! As for QUADs, I would go with a F450 frame if I were to buy one. I mocked up my H quad in wood for now, but I do plan on making one with 16mm tubes and 1.5mm carbon plates in basically the same dimensions as show in the picture here. In comparing the H to the X, you can see how much room there is to mount the electronics.

What does your $750 budget include? can you reuse parts off of your 350? Or is this a ground up build?

I have a talon 550 CF frame weighing in around 1600g AUW, with a DJI Naza running cheap 750KV motors and cheap 12" props, carrying a 6000mAh 4S battery and I consitantly get 25 minutes out of it with hover and light manuevering. If buying new thier is probably less than $500 in this quad.

I can hard mount a GoPro (no gimbal) and it drops my times by about 3-4 minutes.
