Tony,

Your start here got me thinking, so I just did my 1st test cut on the BD5J plans
using that new HK foam board.
Looks nice and I think you will like the way this stuff bends.

I will send anyone interested in trying this
new HK foam a BD5J foam parts set for $28 +shipping.

That's 4 ea 39.37 x 13.5" sheets of foam .

Hi Bob, just remember that you might have to adjust the slot sizes as I think the HK foam is only 5 mm and the Depron (which it was designed for) is 6 mm

Since I use a lot of Gorilla fast set White glue that foams up ,
I did NOT make that adjustment on the new foam cut.

Probably should have, but, what a 1/2 mm on each side among friends ;-)

Yean yeah yeah we know FOSTERs is how you spell BEER! :-)

Enjoy

Best

Bob

Did I apologize to you guys about my 2016 travel plans. ?

I got voted DOWN on OZ so the family, including G-kids, are doing a Med cruise instead of OZ.

yeah yeah I know ...

Well 2017 will have to be MY plan.

Hang in there , I'll make it eventually !

maybe I can parlay a 3 week OZ vacation instead of a 2 week quicky.

C U L8r guys !

1mm gap is a big gap Bob, depending on what glue you are using, plus things don't seem to go together well if the slots are too big ... better being a little small and have to file a little out than too big and sloppy
Come on mate, thats an Aussie way of doing things ... lots seem to think that "near enough is good enough" I am not one of those guys and I don't think that you are either

Plus, you may need a little packing around the EDF if the foam is thinner and my need to make the formers a little bigger too ... LOTS OF THINGS CHANGE WHEN YOU MOVE TO A DIFFERENT (thinner OR thicker) MATERIAL sorry to say

Suggest you build the one in the new material Bob and see what it affects .. please log the build if you do and the things that need to be changed

ANYWAY

Plans added on post #2As always

All I ask is that ... if you decide to build, you post your build pics and if possible a flight video

Please enjoy
