Not yet, they shipped it out on Monday this week. I asked for an extra battery, so I suppose that's what caused the delay.

So a bit more waiting I will definitely post up some pics/vids & my thoughts when it arrives.

Have you worked out any scripting stuff yet? I see they still haven't released the Serial Command Reference.

I do not see any way to do scripting without the reference. We only know one commend that is visible when you edit the scripts they give you. It is hopeless. I wonder why they will not give us the commands? I suspect it has something to do with us being able to destroy our bugs. Like commanding two legs into a collision. One of the new youtube videos does show a bug stumble and fold its leg under . . . it recovers like it did not even happen.

Yeah, hopefully once they get the backlog of pre-orders out we will see some work go back into the web site/software side of things.

On a brighter note, I got home this evening to a parcel collection card in the mailbox - tomorrow, it will be mine!

Just thinking about the the scripts and your concerns a bit more, it would be pretty easy to add max/min values to every servo so you didn't overdrive servos or have limb and stance stability conflicts. I assume all that had to happen for normal operation. When you add in tinkering user level input I assume they will have to do a ton of testing before release. It's all just firmware, you make the scripts available with a firmware update that keeps it all within parameters.

I'm hope they're working on it and we'll have it in... time.

It sets in its box. I would love to program it or download programs that other users make but that is not possible. It is hard to believe that they still have not given us the information to program the bug. There is never any communication from them. They are delaying this till all the momentum is gone.

The only thing I can think is they cannot figure out how to stop us from destroying the thing and so they are scared what will happen.

Cheers
HF

Or maybe they just don't care.
The spider is awesome and they have the product that can be a best seller... but lack of communication like you've said and marketing from their part is quite bad.

I still want one and it's in the back of my mind every time I think about it. But I don't know if it's worth the price it is set to now.

I keep looking on ebay for this but either everyone is holding onto theirs or there's only a handful of people who bought it (including yourself! )
