stopping neon covering from discoloration.

Does anyone know of a way to stop neon covering from discoloration from sun light? I would like to find a way to keep color bright and not fade. Some kind of spray paint,or whatever?PLEASE help if you can.

Some UV resistant clear coat may help.

I believe that Krylon clear is UV resistant.

Krylon isn't glow or gas resistant, so, in my opinion, it isn't suitable for these models.

Unfortunately that would be self defeating. "Neon", or as they're more correctly called fluorescent colors work by absorbing ultraviolet wavelengths, then releasing this energy by emitting it in the visible wavelengths, just like a fluorescent light. so preventing the UV from reaching the dye would basically be turning off the switch; the 'neon' would no longer glow.

Unfortunately the same UV wavelengths that power the dye's glow also breaks down the dye itself. Your best bet it to keep the plane covered when not flying it.

Florescent Paint colors

Other than adding the wight of a clear coat,Carnauba car wax is your second best thing to do. I have asked guys that show cars what they use to protect the colors and finish of their custom cars, ,,they all said they use the Carnauba Car wax. ( Use the 100 % Carnauba)
When not flying slip on your wing covers..

I think you misunderstood me, the UV doesn't MAKE the color, it just makes the color 'glow'.
