Cool
Balsa USA USFORCE ONE Edf

Received as a gift a balsa USA usforce one delta plane. Plane has probably 20 years of neglect.

Since last year decided to crash almost all the models in my fleet , and no cash to replace them, had to conform to make this planes air worthy.

The plane is in good shape so the only work is to modify it to accept a 90mm edf from my R.I.P Y/A Sting Ray.

Work is almost done.

Eguipment
Fan: Het 90mm housing for 39 mm motor
Motor: het 36mm 1130kv
rotor: wemotec 11 blade 90mm
LIpo
3x 4s2650mha to have 12s setup.

Estimated weight 7 pounds.

This will be my lightest EDF hope it survives my hands flying it.

Cheers

Juan

I have always wanted to do this. I had one of these years ago and it was fun to shoot nose high touch and goes all day long.

Juan:

Like "J", I also had one and powered it with a glow prop engine. It was a wonderful flier and landed very easily.

Good luck and let us know how it flies.

Hey, good luck on this.

My dad built a whole series of Force One and the larger version converted to both electric prop and EDF before he passed. I still have an unflown 6S 90mm Force One and an 8S larger version with a few flights on it. I also have several of the prop versions as well.

Remember to reflex the ailerons up about 1/8" and make sure you have your nose gear steering aligned right and plenty of expo. No rudders means you will need a straight ground run to get off ok.

Good luck!

To inform this plane had a great remaiden.

Power to spare almost 400watts per pound, 6.5 pounds final weight with bateries.

Plane needed only some thrust adjustments ans reflex adjustments. Easy to fly and land. Due to short wings very lively on ailerons.

Sharing video, no so good cell phone crashed at mid flight recording only sound and not complete flight.

Balsa USA Force One edf conversion Maiden (1 min 32 sec)

Cheers

12S ! That plane might set some speed records.
Keep your eyes on the ball when you fly that monster.
Well done. Always nice to make a vintage plane fly again.

Nice job! What a great, economical way to get a simple EDF in the air.
I bought those plans when they were first published. Dang I'm old.......

Yes, you are

Me too

My first EDF (1993 or 4 ish?) was a scratch built low winger with an EDF on top of the fuse. The EDF consisted of 2 cut down 5*4 propellers turned by a brushed astro 05 FAI facing motor in a cat food an shroud.
