And it's finished at the 2:45 mark.

Lessons Learned from tonight:
- Clearance height needs to be set higher. I had a minor crash with one of the hold downs. See the video I posted earlier.
- The MDF cured up off the table pretty bad in the corners. I'll try double sided tape next time.
- When gluing layers of MDF together I need more glue. I have to do a quick touch up at the seam with CA in the middle of the cut.

nice job
to stop the chance of crashing in to steel clamps i use a sheet of 25mm mdf the full size of my table clam-pt down then i hold the work piece down by drilling 3mm hole through the work piece in to the 25mm mdf then i use a 3.2mm kebab stick like a nail, cut the top of about 5mm from the top of work piece and tap it with a hammer then if the cuter cut through one it is not a problem .
hope you are using a good dust mask mdf is not good to breathe in

Clamp were made from soft cast Mic - 6 Aluminum. They won't hurt the cutters but I like my clamps.

If you used a water based glue then try switching to one of the polyurethane glues or go with something like epoxy. In fact I'd suggest epoxy anyway since it does not shrink nor expand as it cures. And the first rule of something like a mold of this sort is that you want the utmost in stability of the material.

And yeah, I can only imagine the dust that thing kicked up. I recently did a whole lot of drawers in 3/8 MDF. The dust in the air was bad enough even with a dust collector on the table saw. The fine MDF dust even went thru the fabric filter bag and forced me to go get one of the finer pleated filters for it. I HATE MDF ! ! ! ! ! !

All done cutting for now.

Lessons learned from today:
- I need to revisit my X-axis servo tuning on the machine. Gain is too high now that I got a few hours on the machine and things loosened up a bit. I'm getting a bit of an oscillation when moving at a constant speed on the x-axis only. It's been the troubling axis so it's not a surprise. It did affect the cut somewhat today which is frustrating.

To finish off the day, I broke out the epoxy and coated the surface 3x and hit it with a torch in between each application. Once dry I'll remachine the entire surface.

Here's the result after remachining the epoxy. I took off just a very small amount.

Surface is smooth and hard. Much easier to deal with than raw MDF. It also didn't create that nasty dust when cutting the epoxy hardened MDF vs raw MDF.

After a day of sanding and pin hole filling I'm now pretty much ready to shoot a layer of clear.

Also, remember the Denver Maker Faire is next weekend May 3rd and 4th. Stop by Canuck Engineering's booth and check out the plug in person. I'll also have some Corian wing molds and other goodies to show.

After a little polish.

It's not perfect but its not bad for an MDF plug.
