+1

I was very happy I didn't have to buy a whole new OSD to get the accelerometers. Hope support continues for them.

I really wish they could create some V5 upgrade boards for us. I don't see the con. More money for them and they'll get happy customers in return. Win, win!

Anybody with firmware 5.07

Just recieved RVOSD last week and the vibration meters don't show anything, Even if I tap the osd. Anyone have 5.07 to verify?

Also position hold circles position not figure 8 as per manual.

Anyone? Alex?

The vibration level indicator is not active in this hardware version (5.1).
Will be in the next firmware

Is this the best OSD with RTH on the market?

Maybe I've missed it, but is there a way to have the RTH come back at the altitude it kicks in at and then once home, do a descending circle/fig.8? I'm just thinking if it kicks in while I'm mountain surfing at 5000ft above launch, it could easily descend into the mountain side while trying to get down to a reasonable return cruise height.

No need to buy anything. I have just bought ready made camera cable. I didn't need it but just bought to have spare.
Cheers

Not in current form I think. However, it it were possible to select Waypoint seeker as the fallback mode instead of RTH, then you could program that flight profile.
I wonder if its worth bothering Alex with this one??

I really think an initial climb (50-100ft?), returning at that altitude or an even higher preset altitude, and circling down would cover pretty much every fixed wing failsafe scenario out there. If you are mountain surfing and there is an obstacle above your glide ratio, you're in deep ish.

Just need to set your cruise altitude higher than local terrain.

Yes, RVOSD works well for climbing over obstacles say if you had a tree line in between you and your plane.

It depends on your platform and how much vibrations that reach the RVOSD. I haven't tried to use the RVOSD without a vibration dampener so I don't know how that works but I know that you might have some more problems if you don't use something to lessen the vibrations. And if I'm guessing you'll want the installation to be as hassle-free as possible, right?

If you don't want to buy the vibration mount you could try to either use self-adhesive foam pads or make your own using foam, some experimenting might be needed though. In my Ugglan I've made a custom vibration mount using some kind of soft foam I had at home.
