Cool
ADMX's 4-CH/2.59gram DSM2 Brick.

Has anyone tried one of these, did a search and came up empty. Looks like it has some great features, possibly a lot better than the Mini-Vapor brick.
Whatcha think

Looks like the Super Micro that HK offers but shortened a bit and no sockets. Seems it's also made by Origin:

$53 is expensive.

Yes 53 bucks is expensive but look at what you get for cheaper than what Horizon sells the Mini-Vapor brick for. Hopefully T-Mart or someone will offer them on the cheap.

I find $53 expensive in light of the fact that they only cost $24 in China. I wouldn't be surprised if they turn up at HK at some point.

A while back, I bought two complete BNF Mini Vapors for $39.95 USD each - just to harvest the brick, motor, GB, prop, LG and the pushrods. And I got two spiffy carrying cases (the boxes/foam they came packed in) for gratis.

I already have made a Micro Toon Jet flying wing from these parts that I plan to maiden tomorrow. Stay tuned, as I plan to start a thread for it.

My issue goes past the cost. The reason I use the small modules is to go into small scale planes. I know that this is not the same for everyone. But in my case it is the module width that makes the difference. Often when building a micro scale model the fuselage is very skinny. This module has a width of 24.6mm. The supermicro 3ch module from HK has a width of only 13mm.

I think what you mentioned above is one of the reason Parkzone introduced Mosquito instead of P-38 lightening. It is just very difficult to fit regular brick inside reasonable micro size fuselage of P-38.

This ADMX brick is dsm2 compatible but Supermicro from HK needs separate module to work with Spektrum TX.
In fact, dsm2 or no-dsm2 doesn't matter much to me now because I am getting Turnigy 9xr. But having one less module is better than switching between two. I hope all the HK supermicro bricks converted to dsm2 compatible at some point.

I just clicked on epilot's taobao link and found this on the side bar.
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...e-d62afb8ea1be

Looks very much like Deltang or similar sized and it says 'dsm2', '4ch', '0.35gram' and '2A'. Looks like it is designed for actuators according to the number of pads.

That's Origin, many believe that they are the company manufacturing for HK. But as you point out the HK setup uses a module. If they switch to DSM2 I would be a happy camper.

I'm sure the HK micro equipment is produced by Origin. A lot of the bricks are backordered at HK which makes me think they may be waiting for the new DSM2 brick. Pure speculation of course I've emaild Origin to inquire about dealer prices but they have not responded.

It's a shame there isn't an English language version of Taobao.

I just tried to order via Pabbos. Cheapest shipping option is $39.18! More than the cost of the receiver brick I think I will wait and see if they turn up elsewhere.
