How hot does your exhaust pipe get?

Reason for asking is that it's normal practice to have a gap between the end of the nozzle on your engine & the beginning of the pipe (typically about 30 mm but varies).

The gap allows the pipe to generate a venturi effect drawing in colder air to keep pipe temperature down.

Interesting construction technique, will the alloy frame be covered or is the model a 'Breezy'? - John.

Hi john, The jet pipe gets hot but not to the extent it throwing any major heat off it, to be fair you can put you hand very close to it and cant feel no heat as such, But! It is tempory just for testing as im ordering a proper one from wren this week.
Thanks for your interest good note you provided about the jet pipe.
Its going to be a half breezy, So it will have a front on and two sides at the front.
Cheers
steve.

is your fuel tank going to be that far forward of your wing?.. that will be a lot of change in cg during flight. move main tank back.. UAT forward.. the UAT(header) will stay full any way during flight.

The tank is there for test runs only, Im mounting the tank on the cg in the centre of the airframe under the wings, UAT will go at the front.
