I struggled with the same issue, I used springs and steering was really bad. I ended up just running the wires through tubing and route the tubing with cross members added to the frame.

If you want pics, I can get some later.

I also considered doing this method. If I had to do it again, I would probably try the method in the picture.

I'll get pics of mine tonight

I think the battery for the servo tester is low.... Caused the servo rate reducer to stumble..

Allrighty then. From what I can see you constrained the nose wires in some plastic sleeving, kind of like golden rod.

Are the wires tight when the wheels are deployed? I could not stand the slop in the steering when I first assembled mine so I redid them with the wires pretty snug.

I would redo them using your idea. I bought some trike e-retracts off the HK site that handle 17.5lb aircraft. I have a pair that look exactly the same for my H9 corsair that were made by RC Lander. I will wait for them to arrive...

The lights are mounted and look good in the model. However, I have to still mess around with tx endpoints, servo linkages etc to get them 100%.

the wires go slack when retracted and are pretty tight when locked. Since I use spring air retracts, I struggle with keeping the wire tight, but not too tight or the retracts wont lock. When you mount the HK retracts, I would be interested to see how they turn out.

Well I got the electric retracts installed and they work great! Until the curved section of the oleo thsat holds the wheel fell off and dragged the tip through the dirt. A large-small combination gear inside the retract separated and the retract will not cycle under load. See pix.

The US reseller has not responded to my query for help so far.

On another note I had a motor throw a magnet on the last takeoff. I got her level but the trees broke her fall. Now I have some repair work to fix a leading edge and the wing panel tube socket.

Now I need to ask if anyone who has lost an invader still has any spare parts? I need a wing tube and I can't find any up here.

What size is the wing tube? Maybe you could use a carbon one.

It is 19.5mm (3/4") outside diameter and 16.5mm inside diameter. I cant find carbon tubes thst size and oh, the cost. I am also worried that carbon tubes are super strong, then the snap!

That's funny, I found the same site about an hour after my last post! All I have to do is figure out my wall thickness and a 3/4 in tube will do. That is and a $15 min order plus shipping.
