Please help!!!

I realize I am new here... and I am in WAY over my head. I CANNOT figure out how to get this thing to fly for ANYTHING... Here's my situation...

Walkera Genius CP
Devo 7

At 0% throttle input, the blades are pitched fully negative, and somehow the pitch is tied to the throttle. I can't get the thing off the ground.

When I CAN get it off the ground, it tail spins uncontrollably, and crashes 2 seconds later.

Is there ANY WAY you guys can point me in the right direction in order to set this thing up to where I can at LEAST learn to fly it? I'm honestly at the point of putting them both up on eBay and forgetting I ever tried getting into this hobby.

EDIT: I realize you guys probably get this a LOT... but I'm coming from a fixed 4 channel, and was pretty good at it, and I THOUGHT I was ready to get into the 6 channel birds and move on. So much for that idea.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE help.

Yes... it has been used previously, but the Devo 7 is brand new.

You are going to have to search for Devo 7 setup for the Genius. The tail spinning isn't likely to be a setup issue. If it spins counter-clockwise, odds are good your tail motor is bad. But, the first thing you need to do is change it to 6 channel mode (switch on the board), make sure you are using low rates and when you plug the battery in make sure the heli is setting on a level surface and you don't mess with it until it's done initializing the gyro.

Actually i bet the tail spinning is his gyro..turned off . So go in to gyro and set it up to i think auto sense and then turn it to around 75% and see if your tail holds. If it still drifts up the % a little bit until it stops

Also try this to get your heli mechanically setup right first as you always want 0 pitch at center stick for a cp helicopter.
Mcpx 0 pitch setup (4 min 42 sec)

Then try programing in something like this into the devo7. The mcpx isnt the same as the genius but the basic mechanical setup is and the flight curves react very similar.
Mcpx as a more beginner friendly FP heli (9 min 28 sec)
