Hey one more general question, Does anyone know where Hangar 9 Planes are made? Like which country/factory or manufacture?

Seagull was one of their sources, or so I've read. I think I've heard they come out of Vietnam?

Go to Seagull Models Facebook page and start looking around at some pics. You'll see some hangar 9 models, boxes, etc...

Can anyone here please post some pics of their prop adapters/motor mount setups? I've got a few build pics and I'm building up a database of sorts for my upcoming build. I'm planning on putting in a Turnigy G110 running on 2 4S 4K lipos in series with a Biela 18x10 prop. Sound like a good idea?

I was wondering if anyone knows of a .60 size ME 109 canopy that I could use in place of the Hangar 9 BF 109 canopy. I am having problems tracking down a H9 Canopy since they gave the 109 the AXE So I am looking for an alternate.

Thanks

Getting Close to Maiden Flight Final Check

Hey Guys, I wanted to get some second eyes on this make sure Iam not doing anything wacky for this plane.

Power 60 470 KV Eflite with a castle 90 ESC
5200 50c 6 cell

Prop 17 X 8 Question on this should I go with a 16 X 10 ?

The Eflite Power 60 470 KV Specs
Max Watts is 1800
Max continuous is 65 Amps 80 amp burst
6 to 12 pound Planes, according to docs ideal for 3D planes 9.5

My total weight is 10.5 pounds, which I think will be perfect for scale flying with a little extra if the documentation is correct and 9.5 is ideal for a 3D planes.

Power reading locked down on the bench 10 second hold...

Max Watts 1400
Max Amps 69

After a while it locks in at

1334 Watts
64 Amps Is this to close to the limit ?

I am balanced right around 3 inches from the leading edge. This is probably what I am most concerned about because I have not added nearly as much weight as some of the other guys have on this thread. The only thing I did different was make mounting brackets to move the weights farther forward. I Currently have 252 Grams or 8.88 oz of led. She is balancing as you can see in the image and if you tap the nose it wants to go over forward. Any thoughts? I am hoping to get it up Wed day morning. Thanks

PWJ, with ARF's made mostly of lt ply balance can vary greatly.

the mil spec definition of light ply has balsa in the middle, what we normally get is saw dust and lots of cheap (brittle) glue. so when the percentage of sawdust to glue changes the wt changes. then to top it off when I built I use light balsa aft of cg and heavy forward, in mass producing these they just go to the bin and grab the size they need not even considering that the heavy end should go forward Etc.

my personal take on test flights is I balance to center of cg mark then add sticky wts to bring it to forward cg mark. once comfortable with the model (flight 4 or 5 usually) I remove the sticky wts and ounce or two at a time till the cg is in the center of the range. if I want a further aft cg I do what I have too.

hope this helps

Joe
