Copter X kit about $100.00 +/ Motor and 40 amp ESC $40.00/ Cheapo servos X4 $36.00/ Wallie bar unit $30.00/ locktite $6.00 if they even use it. Thats at least over $200.00-$220.00. most cheapo kit come with wood blades. D03 are composite. so maybe another $10.00 $20.00 if you want safety factor. Now price is same as D03. Now you need to build it and set it up. Great but one thing wrong heli goes into ground.

Want to build a kit Take D03 all aprt and then build it.

I looked at Bang good and Walkera helis are still being sold. same with parts . For an out of box BNF 450 for $250.00 is pretty decent bird for bucks. If you can fly a Master c/p you can fly the D03.

If I fly both birds in one outing. I fly master cp first. Because if I fly D03 first it make me really throw the masters around. The D03 is such a smooth and docile flyer. It's size makes it easier to handle.

Master c/p/ V450D03 out of box flyers are good deal. My #1 Master had yellow canopy and heat sink. Using tri-flow and PTFE gease on pinion / main gear/ Tri-flow on bearings amd Motors . Bird had over 400 flights on original motors. Stock 100 %. #2 had bl upgrade and m/g servos. flew great.
My D03/ D01 V2 are my go to helis.

This is crazy, I can't believe all of my go to birds or down waiting on parts. I have a lot of extra parts, but each heli needs something I don't have. The year of the monkey has slowed the mail down. $172 in parts from Myrcmart, $165 in parts from Tmart. And nothing has shipped. I'm starting to have withdrawals.

Hello dankar04, you have both V450D03 & D01. I want to ask will the v450D01 swashplate work on the D03? The only difference I see is the anti-rotation pin on the D01 is a little shorter than the D03.

You may need to check part #'s. I took a looks and pin is shorther on D01/ plus anti rotatation bracket is thinner on D01 also. The D01 came out before D03. V2 of D01 was replacement od three axis Devo RX to 6 axis.
Point is older design. Lader upgraded. D03 came out as beginner 450 and perhaps more robust head gear ? i can not say for sure.
While both fly fine i like D01 V2 better. Seems smoother and better balanced. It sits on skids with out battery. D03 will rest on tail skid without battery. Plus 45 g lighter doesn't hurt either. That said both have given me good service.

Thanks dankar04, the reason I ask is a vendor sent me two D01 swashplate and I didn't even order any swashplate at all. It was a accidental shipment. Looking at it close I think it will work. But want go very deep into the pin guide. I'd hate to think of what would happen if it comes out in flight. If I ever use one, to make it work, i would take the pin out, put a drop of locktight on the threads, and not screw it all the way back in to give it just a fraction of a centimetre more deep into the guide. Just a thought.

I've just compared the D01 swash with the D03 swash. The anti rotation pin on the D03 is certainly longer however it also looks like it's screwed into the swash. It may be possible to unscrew the D01 pin and replace it with a D03 pin.

The other option may be to make the anti rotation guide thicker by adding some material to it on the swash side (making sure the pin doesn't bind on it of course).

Wow, now thats good thinking. That sounds much better and safer than not screwing the pin all the way in. Shouldn't be too hard to find something to add to the swash side of the guide. A few months back I had a bad crash with one of my D03 and broke the anti-rotation pin right where the threads start. I had to get another swashplate because I couldn't get it out. In case that happens again I was trying to think of a way to use these two spares.

Yo Zappy been gone awhile. Not much going on with D03/ D01 threads.
I have been busy building some woodie planks. My helis are fine and fly them also. Cut back even more to save on buying more bigger batteries for now. I will be good till summer comes along. Bang good still has full line of WK helis.

Hey Dan

Yeah mate. I've been rather unwell and have not been around much. Just starting to recover and get back into some flying.

Noticed the D01 and D03 threads are quiet as are pretty much all the heli threads. Sad to see.

Sounds like you're having some fun with the planks. Great to hear All my WK birds are like yours - missed the memo and flying beautiful. Still loving the D's. Wish there were more like them. Been thinking about buying a couple of sets of the WK servos, 6 axis Rx and putting them on some decent frames.

I have an extra RX for D03. Guy who sent me D03 sent extras with it. He thought RX was bad but it was his esc. I tested it and worked fine. Problem is servos need to travel same direction as DD's. You can noit reverse them with TX. If you do gyro goes bonkers. So heli frame needs to be set up like D01. That may not be issue ? I'm good on 450's. DD's/ E/Razor fly fine. I have Align 450 SE V2 not flown yet/ plus Blade 450 D.
Plus fukll on kit Forza 450 3 D and all JR gear to make it fly.
Plus new Blade 500 D waiting to be flown. Just recieved battery last month. Mucho happening and no rush at all.
