program!! WE need an APP!!

Is there ever going to be an app for these ESC's , android and iPhone/ipad/ipod?

I am sure you could profit from it.

Why not make an app and charge a couple bucks for it. Everyone I have talked to would love a ESC that could be accessed at the field, without a laptop.

Come on guys, just do it, Every thing else has an app. This most likely would boost sales!!!!

Who else would like this APP?

Someone said a while back that most portable devices just don’t have enough USB power to run the programmer safely without corrupting the ESC memory. Maybe if they use a power USB hub that would be possible.

I’m sure that they are working on a solution but who knows when?

If you have a device with Windows 8.1 it will probably work as is. But programming an ESC from your iWatch (or whatever they are calling it) is going to be a challenge – LOL.

That's it. USB is the big challenge. Most portable devices like phones cannot be a USB host without hacking into the OS/Kernel. Some device that was powered and could retransmit the USB connection over Bluetooth would be the cat's meow maybe.

I never understood why they didn’t have an option for a plug in USB hub from day one. I guess they thought that they would only be used for texting and social media and not be expected to do real “Computer” work.

What about a wifi/ blue tooth type fix?
Some of Traxxas transmitters plug directly into a iPhone/ipod for complete control of the TX.

I'm glad its not for you. But there is many who would enjoy programability from a personal device at the field.

The traxxas is not bluetooth, it has a direct docking station, you can program while driving.

Android 4.0.2 and onwards has USB host capability. Also smart phones have plenty power. I have an app that reads the SM Unilog 1 through the USB port, and can set the parameters.
See www.f5b.co.uk
Go to equipment then Limiters then UniF5B App and program.

The Unilog uses an interface based in the FTDI USB to serial chip which does the same as the Silabs chip in the castle download device.

It is just a matter of re-writing the Windows app for Android.

Virtual Windows App

Someone needs to write virtual Windows app so that you can run any windows program on an Android. I have often wondered why such a program doesn’t already exist?

How do you get your phone to work as host? I got an OTG cable a while back but can't seem to get anything going with it. Using ICS on HTC EVO3D
