Has anyone built one of these...?

Here is my Old bill 60 inch WW1 type model. I built it a few years ago and sold it about a year ago , Im about to start building another as it was such a good relaxing flyer.
Im wondering if anyone else has built one or can even tell me who it was designed by ( my plan is a rough drawing on a piece of lunch wrap!)
It builds easy and fast and is powered just right with a .40 2 stroke..

Hi ,
I have the plan and will pull it out later, 'Old Bill' was a Dave Boddington Design and I think that the plan was available through Tramplet .

Wow! thanks for that. It is a little bit like a stick...Its a neat plane, I regretted selling mine and am eager to build another. I used a Super 60 wing rib on mine as I found it to be almost identical to the plans rib ( hence the Boddington design I guess ) and I have aluminium templates for the 60. Its a fairly thick section so tends to fly quite slowly ... a neat Sunday flyer

Ray is it possible for you to please post the plans write up for me to see...

It certainly is. I believe he is quite ill at the moment. I'm sure we all wish him well and a speedy recovery.

I have just bought the plan pack for one of these from DB Sport and Scale with the intention of fitting an SC 30 fs engine, which is quite powerful for its size. (Currently it pulls an Airsail 2 meter Fournier that weighs over 4 pounds with very good performance Do you think this engine will pull the Old Bill around OK for those evening sorties with the odd loop thrown in? I can fit light servos etc if required.

Regards

pluriel,

yes the sc30 will be fine if you keep an eye on tail weight.

Ive got the same engine in a 4.5llb simplex and once up, pootles round at 1/10th throttle.

Pluriel, I think the 30 fs will be ok if the models kept light.... a .25 2str would have been a bit under powered for mine. Also depends on your field, if the grass is longish you may have a bit of trouble getting her off the ground...

Thanks everyone for the advice - I will build light with smallish servos and power the receiver with a lipo with ubec to keep the weight down.
