boom and tail motor
This forum is a bit different and I didn't realize I should have been posting here as opposed to making a thread for my problems.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...3#post22585325 I replaced the boom and the tail motor as well as the landing gear. Had everything re-soldered but the wires for the tail motor were on the outside of the mount for the tail motor. I wound up breaking the wires trying to get the motor in the housing with the motor later that night but they were already damaged from the first attempt to install. I have the thing apart again and have more parts ordered for the re-fix. Do you guys not put the wires inside like it does come from the factory? Should I just run the wires on the outside and cover them with electrical tape to protect them? The replacement might not the the exact same either? Also want to share how I took the boom, or what was left of it out of the main body. I used a 5/64 drill bit and drilled two holes from the sides, then from there it was cake to pull the old parts out. Even used the drill bit to drill out from the back where the boom enters the body to clean that all up. |

You do, I don't. I have stiff fb's. Look, you said
which is not a correct premise from the question you were asked, which was 'is the Helios fb stiffer'. From that premise, you could not say "The flybar doesn't bend into the helicopter." because everyone knows the flybar bends into the heli and if you make it stiffer or shorter it does not. I understand you are explaining how it flies, but you were asked if it was stiffer, not how it flies. That's all. Quote:

The wet noodle gives negative feedback for me. Is that glass half empty or half full? It's smoother, which I really prefer, but it's smoother because it's slower because it's flexible. Good for beginners, though, and good for anyone that prefers that style of flying.

When a tail motor dies, I cut the wires at the tail motor, replace the tail motor, scrape the enamel off the wires. and solder.
When a tail boom breaks, I wrap it with paper towel and superglue the whole mess. If you put the tail motor wires on the outside of the tail boom, nail polish is good to hold it and protect the wires. A product called Un-Cure is a debonder that turns the cyanoacrylate (CA) glue into a gel, but you have to keep poking the glued part, wiping, adding more Un-Cure. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=8458 |

The Extreme CF FB need a small piece of CF or similar glues onto the top above the attachment point though cause people have said that is where they break. +1 on the Walkera Genuis CP clone! (or Exceed X100, same thing) with the 3 axis and 6 axis gyro. If they cloned that feature as well, I would buy one right this second, no hesitation (after all I been debating buying one of those)! |

If you really want to have fun, make a flybar from string tied to the center core of a broken flybar, with weights tied to the ends of the string. Then fly it without flybar strikes. The ultimate floppy flybar wet noodle.
Just thinking.... One length of fishing line wrapped around what remains of a broken flybar.. A way to attach the end of the fishing line to the main blades so that it goes free when RPM increases. A way to untangle the mess after crashing into bushes. The angle would decrease from 45 degrees so flybar influence will be further behind the swashplate. |

Also, your patience hasn't been tested until you place an order at the beginning of the Chinese New Year!

I bought my V911 BNF, V929 Tx, and spare batteries from BangGood on Sunday, when all were listed as "in stock". Since Monday morning my order status still says "backorder".
All items I ordered still show as "in stock" on the site.Is this just a delay because of the Chinese New Year, or is something really out of stock? I'm not angry, just bummed. Sorry if I sound like a whiner, but I was hoping to take it on Vacation in a month. Rick |
