DS09-SCD - change deadband for dlg

LIke to check for those who use Hyperion DS09-SCD on DLG wing, do you reprogram the deadband from 2us to 1us ? See a difference ?

I didn't,

You might though. You'll only find out by trying it on your plane as it's linkages are different to anyone else's

skyboyken, thanks for your response.

Trouble is I would have to spend about $100 to get an emeter2 just to program it as I am on mac the USB/WIndows apps don;t work for me.

Thus I like to know if people flying DLG with DS09-SCD do it at all ?

I have not done it on mine. Haven't noticed any problems with centering.

Jyzoom,

I borrowed an emeter to try it. Do you know any electric flyers who may have one? I agree completely it isn't worth buying one to change 2 servos.

Also there is a dedicated programmer which is cheaper than an emeter IIRC.

I never bothered and have not had an issue with centering. I not saying saying it wouldn't be better, but it's certainly not necessary.

I think most of the remaining centring error is mechanical, in the gears and the play in the bearings and shaft fit. I'm not sure changing the deadband would make any difference to what happens at the end of the servo arm, and even less so by the time you get to the actual surface through the linkage system.

Reducing the deadband would likely just make the servo buzz more and use more power.
