Yep, I know that. Makes my '700' Long Ranger kinda not so 700'ish in comparison. I'll have fun with it, lots of custom mechanics stuff in the works, and I'm thinking instead of my usual block 'o wood airframe mounting, I'll make a CF mounting setup. I have a bunch of 3mm CF that I got for some of that custom mechanics stuff...might as well make use of it. Fancy! lol

Ok, one last picture as it is one of the big highlights...the relocated skids. The light blueish circles are where the Funkey factory claims they should be...I moved them to better match Eurocopter's idea where they should be

Cap...that's a tough one. Right now I'm getting about 1/2-1 degree backwards tilt randomly measuring stuff while in the process of building the mountings. Yeah, not so good. I can run the cutoff wheel through the mountings and re-JB Weld the assembly if I need to take some height out without starting over. Thing is...I'm kind of short in the mainshaft height department so I'm trying to max out the airframe height by keeping the tail boom in the fuselage's tailboom channel. I'll see what the final angle is when the thing isnt so flexy-floppy as it is now

Anyone know what the mainshaft tilt spec is for the AS350? The thing about this fuselage also is the tail boom is high compared to the real thing which kinda makes things change a bit...

Anyway, I'll throw in another pic of some questionable CF mountings in progress . They should be ok I think...better than a hunk of pine block in there . Mounts to the factory supplied captured M3 nuts in the back, and to the skid mounting block screws in the front (which were relocated from stock)

2.5 -3 degrees I think but you would be best to ask that question on ScaleRCHelis.com those guys will know for sure.

Mount looks ok if you can get the rear up a little higher , I would be happy with anything from 0-1.2 degrees of forward tilt.

I got one of the rear struts glued in, and it looks like the mast angle will end up being 1/2 degree or a bit less than that rearward, measured in relationship to the floor. I could have forced in a longer strut, but I think I'll just add some shims to the rear frame mounting to get it to zero (or some angle forward). I was making the strut to just have a light contact 'hold', I'm sure the boom was drooping some with the mounting only on the front frame and on the boom tube back by the tail rotor area, when making that part. Lots of leeway with that long flexable airframe boom tube to get the mast angle forward a bit when it comes time for final fitting I think.

Interestingly, the floor of the fuselage is really, really close to the top of the fuselage tail boom angle. Like within a tenth degree or right on the money. Funkey must have some sort of a jig when they glue the floors in.

I had the same problem as your having when I did the 500 size EC-145 and used the stretched 450 mechanics.
I ended up making the boom coming out the airframe short ( 3-4") and then that a way I could raise the rear of the airframe to get it mostly level , but with the EC145 having shorter landing gear to the rear than to the front when it is on the ground it looks like the main tilts to the rear but it doesn't.
Of course I don't think you could do that because as my tail rotor gearbox on my EC-145 is mounted to the raised tail mechanics , yours needs to be mounted to the boom which is mounted to the airframe.
So in your case I guess it's one of those things you get what you can get and be happy with it.

I got that 3/16" belt we were talking about...hey, that's a beefy looking MXL belt! lol. But that'll be for when I start my own build thread...soon. Should get linkages tommorrow, pulleys maybe next week, then I think it'll be off of 'parts hold'

Probably almost looks like a 550 - 600 belt doesn't it?

What blades are those you're running?

They are the Rotortech 3 blade matched set, 600mm

They look really nice and scale too.

How do you like those?

They seem nice. They are somewhat asymmetrical, with a bit of built in pitch towards the inside of the blade. I think it works, as I was wondering why it was getting light on the skids with no collective added. You can see this in the video as it approaches full speed. The blades are narrower also which is good.

I am using those blades on my AS350. They were perfectly balanced out of the package and are smooth as butter being cut with a hot knife. I painted mine with Tamiya paint to try and match the factory military colour but I think I got the head right but not the blades. Oh well, one more rattle can to pick up. Take care.
