Ok, just tried to fly the mini for the first time. Didn't even get it off the ground. It keeps wanting to flip tail over head. My wife is laughing at me.

Setup:

• Mini V-Tail frame (Prototype version)
• Naze32 FC w/ 7/26/2012 firmware
• Turnigy Plush 10amp ESCs
• IPower 2000kv motors
• Gemfan 5x3 props
• Hitec Minima 6T RX
• Nano-Tech 3s 850mha Battery

Total flying weight - 308g

Pictures below.

This is the first time I've used the Naze FC. It is set for V-Tail and, as per a post earlier in this thread, I dropped the P on the Yaw down to 4.

Rotation is as per the diagram in the first post of the thread. Writing on the props is up.

The Naze manual does not have a motor number diagram for the V-Tail config. I used the Y4 diagram and tried the tail motors once each way (1,3 and 3,1)

Any ideas folks? I'm too new at this to have any beyond the rear motor # swap I already tried.

but I don't think anyone has had look with Naze32.. I think only open person document there effort.. with that board.

I am still hoping to get my 500 in the air with the Naze32. I first tried the Y4 setup and it wasn't working well. I intended to try the Vtail setup, but my 500 has been shelved a couple weeks while I try to get one of my planes finished up before the end of the summer...

The tail over head issue has been solved. The wiring harness is tight enough that I have to flip it upside down to connect the battery. Doh! The gyros were calibrating that way! A recalibrate on the gyros from the TX once it's right side up solved the issue. I need to redesign the power harness anyway...

Now problem number 2. I can barely get her off the ground. According to eCalc, she should be hovering at just under 50% throttle and that's where she was starting to lift off yesterday. Today, 100% throttle and not more than a foot off the ground. Time to check the battery on the fancy charger I think.

Anyone else have any progress with the mini yet?

One thing i notice with mini and Multiwii is that vibration is a real killer.
My mini Quad was not even leaving the ground and after removing as much vibrations i can and also increassing the filter in Multiwii sketch ... it was over-powered..

Oh, and I believe I've figured out the motor numbers for the Naze32 V-Tail. They are basically the same as for a normal X quad.

4, 2 - Front
3, 1 - Rear

This may be obvious to some, but it wasn't to me.

I've got the Naze mounted on 2 layers of HK sticky foam, no screws at all. I see that TC has added the MW gyro filtering to the latest Naze builds. I may have to try it.

Yes you should try the filter.
Also try to balance your prop and eleminate as much as you can..!
