the Folly II
This big FF model was constructed in 1937 to fly in competition at the California State Fair. The designer was Rod Doyle. It came in 2nd -- beaten by a very similar razorback design. Found the plan on outerzone.
The wingspan was 6 feet and the plane weighed 2.5 lbs. Those wheels were 3.25 inches in diameter. The engine had an ignition system including a coil, breaker points, a battery and an adjustable spark advance. The parasol wing was elevated on a rack bent from 1/8-inch music wire.

Modeled in Rhino3D 5.0 with the tSplines plug in. I did the fuse in tSplines and the rest in Rhino. Materials and colors via Auxpecker 2. Not quite done, but getting close. Michael
