Great job Bro...that is what we need...demos like that at events which will hook other guys into the Speed scene. I plan on hitting as many fun fly's as possible this coming season.

I have taken my speed planes to fly ins. I love getting the response, "Nice Glider!" before I fly it. It is awesome to get their reaction when I stand it on its tail and VTO. Then they are amazed by the 180mph fly bys. I'm sure to fly that one first before the Swist as to not make 180 seem slow.

It was no critisism just a reflection I'm with you that most places are pretty hard to fly these kind of planes safe at, hence my throtteling back at most shows. Your plane too moves 3 times as fast as imaginable by 99% of the RC pilots viewing ;-)

Kevin sure did give it a try....well,it was his second try,i posted a video a while back when he tried to video it,and my buddy Andy that does photos and write ups for an rc mag just gave up ....and Kevin uses some NICE GEAR.In that video,he was 100 or so feet away,about 12 feet in the air on a perch....Here is a pic of him,Great Guy,and does amazing rc vids.

This has probably been said hundreds of times before, the key is to not use the viewfinder/video monitor but some kind of mechanical sight.

My thought is pop that motor in there,bolt on a 4.7X4.7,100amp ESC,and some nice 2200mah and up 5 cells in there and go have a BLAST .....As far as speed,it should be a tic slower then the Neu 1115/1Y but much nicer on the lipos and get you in the 180 to 190mph range.

What is the fastest you have flown an RC Plane,and what plane ?

I ve been flying an Escape for the last 2 seasons at 170ish. 4.1x4.1 on a Neu 1110/1y or 1.5y can never remember. It scoots along beautifully, love that plane, just need a change of pace now.

Cool deal,but sounds like you will need to go 6S soon

That's what I'm afraid of Voo Doo......I might have to re-think my motor choice shortly. The thing is winter is almost here and I only fly indoor stuff through the winter, so the Swist will likely wait till spring.
