What does a compass do?

the compass helps with direction lock in the altitude and headinglock mode

I had a little change to try the DOS its raining here for ages now
works like a charm out of the box
easy programming with the software
before I had a fy-21
for me I have to get used to the throttle handling but it looks like its working fine
its lowers the throttle with backwind and raised throttle in head wind so no need for airspeed sensor gps speed is accurate enough
(note when you throttle down it doesn't work anymore so you have to set some throttle in your failsafe setting)
really nice rth system for this price

Quick test New FY-DOS system from FEIYU TECH (1 min 13 sec)

It looks like it flies awesome but I wish it had a cheap osd add on so that it wouldn't be more expensive than the fy31ap with hornet osd

I paid 105 euroos with shipping and here in NL I can buy a hornet for 75 euro
so for 180 euro you will have a really nice set
but I don't like the hornet its missing RSSI and its quite busy on the screen
don't need the horizon stuff etc etc
now I have a skylark trace IV on simple mode

waiting for some skywalker foam now

The Hornet has 5 or 6 screens. from very busy to next to nothing. If you don't have a spare channel you can set the default screen before you fly. Still no RSSI!

Hehe yes I know
But besides no rssi also the small text I dont like
On the other hand it works really good and accurate
And also I like to separate video and rth system as a kind of reduancy
So if one gps sytem fails you still can get home with the other
Next week I will try to make a longer video as review of the fy-dos

It's really good I am very happy with the performance

Maybe you know if FY DOS have standard set of sensors: MPU6050, HMC5883L, MS5611-01BA01
In this picture it seems so but there is also unrecognisable white chip.

Is this the barometer?

White chip near edge with 2 holes is MS5611 barometer I don't know what is the bigger white chip closer to MC.

I also would like to see if DOS recovers plane from crazy situation like upside down ...

I am thinking of buying DOS without GPS and using other GPS module. Also want to try connect DIY OSD to telemetry port to have info from DOS on OSD.

3d mode is also intteresting
It keeps the plane in the position you put it in even when you center your sticks so hands off knife edge
