Whats a good paint to use on EPP like my TH's Edge 540. I got the Edge 540 landing gear from them also. But the wheel pants are white. I kinda wanted them to match the fuse. Alittle anyways. I found some Kylon acrylic. Just wondering what other types or brands to use.

does it need to be a rattle can? What material are the wheel pants made of? EPP is pretty tolerant and you can use most anything. most of us are using water based acrylics like Createx in an airbrush

started paint this week end on my full fuse 540 edge..42" wing span.

Createx and SpectraTex are great right out of the bottle and Badger makes a cap and tube that fits the bottle so you don't waste paint pouring into a separate bottle. The Createx is opaque so it covers well, the SpectraTex is more transparent which can be a plus or minus depending on what effect you're going for.

Also, I've never had a clogged airbrush when using either of these two paints.

This might seem kinda wierd but I wanted to show you how I drill a hole in EPP. You heat the BB while holding it with tweezers or pliers then place it where you want the hole. Gravity does the rest. It'll go stright down and fall out the bottom. The hotter the BB or what ever size metal ball you use the faster and strighter the BB falls.

I just tried to paint a piece of EPP foam with cheap rattle can spray paint from Wal Wart and it looks like a winner. It didn't melt, yet. I'll check it in the morning. I know EPP is some tuff stuff but I didn't know you could paint it with spray paint. Live and learn.

Figured I would contribute my first paint job to this thread, a 42" Sbach 342 from Fancy Foam.

SpectraTex paints were used here, out of my PEAK X3 brushes.

Now what kind of pressures are you guys out there using for painting this stuff? i sprayed this at 30-40 psi and the whole place was fogged up in no time, thinking of trying a much lower pressure, like hard surface painters do, around 10 psi, I'll have to reduce the paint some though.
