New! Blade Nano QX 3D

A 3D version of the popular Nano

Splash

3D Aerobatics In Your Living Room

The Blade Nano QX is a popular quad for both indoor and outdoor flying. It's small size and great handling has allowed it to be used as a training tool for beginners as well as an amazing small space FPV platform for more experienced pilots. Blade has just announced a new 3D version of the Nano QX with a cool new look and a few tricks up its sleeve.

The Nano QX 3D is equipped with SAFE technology, but the real story here is the reversible motors that allow it to fly both upright and inverted. Now you can perform traditional helicopter maneuvers with a micro quad right in your living room. It's so small and light that you can push your skills over soft ground without worrying too much about breaking it. You can pre-order right now in either BNF or RTF.

Check out the Nano QX 3D BNF

Isn't that bad for brushed motors?

Sure they will wear out eventually, but they are cheap to replace.

And unlike many quads, no soldering is required!

Something of note: I was looking into this quad upon announcement, there are some questions. Marketing materials refer multiple times to flipping at the press of a button, however the manual does not refer to this button for either the rtf or setup for bnf. I called and spoke to support after their website comment system resulted in a brush off. I spoke with a guy in the tech dept who confirmed he was seeing the same and would call me back in a couple hours with some answers. That was Wednesday...

Info on performing 180 and 360 degree flips IS referenced in the Nano QX 3D manual under Transmitter Controls:
(RTF) Transmitter Trigger Options
• Beginner Mode (0) Flip– Press the trigger for a 360 degree flip, then move the aileron or elevator stick fully in the desired flip direction.

Also listed for various Transmitters in the BNF Transmitter Setup Table.

Do a search in the manual for the word "flip". It appears 24 times.

Alright, we are perhaps looking at different spots for the manual. I am looking at http://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/BLH7...nual-MULTI.pdf which has 9 hits for the word flip. Including your reference to the rtf radio function. However there is not any reference to how you perform the action on other transmitters. The dx6i for instance. There is a mention of flap switch config, and this may be the control. It is just not explicit, and the mode names are incorrect on the dx6i setup as well. (Beginner, Intermediate, Evo instead of Stability, Evo, Agility)

Just got ahold of the "QX 3d expert" in Illinois. He also agrees that the information in the manual is lacking. He is currently going through a setup on the dx6i and will be getting a hold of me later. Also he physically slapped the dude that forgot to call me back last week

HH got back to me, Flap switch is the answer. Each toggle followed by a directional command will result in a flip with the dx6i.
