So, if you put 200 flights in one season, you're likely to change one motor, maybe two. But if you have 5 ultra-micro, and you fly them only 40 times each, sure enough, they will last a long time. But again, no matter what, eventually, you'll have to change a brushed motor....
I think the last part is why mine have lasted so long. I have four micro planes that I fly about equal time.

V...decided to try the SX from RCbabble and test it in the P-51 with the Spit 4 blade....as it flies great now with the added pitch, a few more rpms will add to the thrust....

Excellent I have been meaning to get one myself, however I'm currently sinking my $$$ into BL 1s setup in a gearbox I'm hoping it will deliver 70-80g of static thrust, but its too early to know for sure yet. I'll keep you guys posted

Even though I am for sure going with the SX, what is this BL that you speak of?

Close but no cigar! Thats the combo that gave me the idea, but unfortunately the 1mm prop shaft seems to be a bit of a let down. I occasionally turn my micros into lawn darts so I needed a better gearbox solution.

The new mCPX BL tail motor in the UM gearbox This new BL motor has a diameter of 8mm so with a layer of tape wrapped around it it should slide directly into the UM gearbox. Then the mCPX 9t pinion should fit the motor too so I dont need to mess around with pinion pullers

I believe the mCPX BL tail motor is 8000 and something KV, and coupled with a 6a 1s ESC it should be a winning combo. I think a 3a 1s ESC should cut the mustard though, but better to be safe than sorry. 1220 11000kv Inrunners pull around 4-6a so the 8mm 8000kv should pull less amps in theory.

im guessing 60 grams thrust with gws 5030 @ 4v area.
we really need a ball bearing gearbox, especially iff this gets anywhere above stock thrust.

So I just bit the bullet and ordered my SX motor. Fingers crossed that all goes well for me with it!

I am going to go with the stock prop for now. Money is tight, so it will have to do for now

Hopefully they birth a phoenix of of the ashes though!

I would love a p-51 with AS3X, clear canopy and 4 blade prop as stock I was going to build my own, but I got sidetracked with scratch building foamies.
