Hi buddies, mine is still pure sailplane. Not sure yet if some day I will converted to e-version. What I plan to do is add a cable hook inside the nose cone to tow with other powered model. She flew slope, thermal but piggy carried, high start and ocassional electric winch...
Believe or not, she is 32 years old, I recovered three times and painted the wood-glass finish fuse, last time over five years ago, at the begining she was red-yellow finished, after that white-blue. Went to competition F3B on spanish Andalusian regionals during the years 81-82, with my first BOT and OlyII, till composite sailplanes arrived. After that I flew her just for fun and hundreds of marvelous flights during these years and as good as the first day.
Next covering time I plan to change the cable operated spoilers for little servos inside the spoilers bay ....

Thanks for sharing your great looking Aquila. Before I recovered mine in white/trans. green it was white/trans. red. Nice to see white/trans. blue color scheme.

E-flite Power 25-980 kv, 15-6 folder, 3s. It's been repaired numerous timesover 30+ years. I think it weighed less after this rebuild by consolidating previous repair attempts. Identical flight habits as pre-"E". Lazy/sweet.

What size prop are you using on the Eflite-10 and what do you plan to use with the 15?
Any chance of seeing a close-up picture of the motor install?

Okay, you guys got me into a bragging mode.
The Aquila does look nice in blue and white doesn't it Manolo?
My Aquila XL looks good in trans violet too!

Then there is the pic of my XL held by the original owner Capt'n Jack,
the Aquila Grande' held by Bob Summers, RIP buddy and me holding my Aquila.
The Aquila and the Aquila XL are great fliers for me, if the winter building goes as planned I will be adding the Aquila Grande' to complete my collection of Aquili.

Sorry to say, no, and it is the XL not XC. The Sagitta received the designation XC.
Aquila kits do show up on eBay though.

You would have a better chance in finding a set of plans and scratching it. I think RCM still offers the plans for both, including the XC version. If not simply scale the std or Grande version up. I scratched a set of Aquila wings for an old fuse many years ago which turned out to be a fun project. It isn't as bad as you would think.

My Aquila was the only plane that I ever lost. She went into a big boomer to never be found again...

My modified Aquila has gone through couple of motors, had e-flight 10 and currently 35/36 1100 ( same as eflite 10 power-vise ) I used 11/8 prop
Total all up weight with 3s 1300 65c is 40oz. Servos and Rx are under the wing.
I cut the nose off, reinforced with balsa blocks from the inside, and then carved out a space. and rounded the nose down to the spinner. Then I fiberglassed the outside ( about 4" back from the firewall ) with ultralight glass cloth and epoxy, with ply firewall. The nose is tight so there is not much to see unless I remove the motor. I am going to try 12/6 prop on it, or the next motor is going to be e-flite 15 if not enough. I just want 30 sec to 200m comfortably, I do not need a rocket. I will do more testing after the snow goes away.
