Control Ronin from Potentiometer

Hi,

I posted this elsewhere on the forum but thought it might be better here as it's more of a DIY project...

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me here. I am trying to control my DJI Ronin from a potentiometer. So for example, if I move the dial 90 degrees to the left, the Ronin moves 90 degrees to the left - Much the same way as a servo works.

I have snippets of information but to all intents and purposes, lets just assume that I'm a noob

I'm using a Turnigy er9x but I'm happy to move to a different controller. We have an s-bus module arriving but I know that the potentiometers on the er9x will send out a speed signal and not a proportional signal. So the question is, is there any way to send out a proportional (stick position) signal via the er9x so that the Ronin will understand it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Bob

I had a quick google and discovered it's apparently some sort of complex camera gimbal system. But I couldn't get any clear idea of how it's normally intended to be controlled which makes it difficult to suggest how anyone might change the way it's controlled .

It has a 2.4ghz transmitter plus it takes an s-bus input for 3rd party controllers. It also has an IMU port but I can't find any info about what it's for...
