Clamped with hog rings, not tied at all.

Thanks Lachlan!

I'm such a Neanderthal that I have no idea what a "hog clamp" is or how it would be used to secure the bungee cord! I've tried the o-rings, #30 rubber bands and the J-3 springs and each have failed. Springs work ok, do long as you grease 100% of landings.

Hope to get the bungee solution sorted.

Cheers

Instead of hooks these are made with rings. I had to wrap them a few times to get the tension right.

If you're happy, and you know it, clamp your hams! (sing it with me)

Hog RINGS, not clamps. Google is indeed your friend. Send me your address and I'll mail you some bungees for the Super Cub.

Cotrol throws

Can anyone tell me how the control throws are measured?

For example flap throws are mid 29mm and landing 67 mm.

Clamp a straight edge to the bottom of a wing, just outside the flap at the aileron.
Measure from the trailing edge of the flap to the straight edge at the positions indicated.
The flaps are very sensitive at high speeds...I'd suggest slowing the plane down, before deploying them. Too fast and the plane begins a loop.....as it slows down, it will return to level flight...We settled on a 10% nose down elevator trim, mixed with flaps as the master...Application of flaps is barely noticeable then.
