Which 4m Scale Sale Glider?

Hi All

I am interested in a scale 4m'ish glider for thermal flying.

Now here's the thing, it needs to have:

1. "T" tail
2. Winglets on the main wing
3. Not be too expensive...

Any ideas? And where do I search for one?

Greg

Please define "not be too expensive". Anything with winglets is going to be more expensive unless you find it used. Go to SoaringUSA and I-Care to look at what's available new. The best bang for the buck in large scale ships is the E-Flight 4.2m Blanik. The airframe is only $1000 but it does not have a T-tail and no winglets but it flys great even at 20+ lbs.

Hi Greg,

This DG800 ticks your boxes and seems popular at the budget end of the market...

Sorry I can't give better advice without knowing your flying/building experience, aspirations in scale gliding, and bank account details!

Good luck,
Rog

I have been flying for 32 years. Glow, planes and slope soaring. I now fly electric only, heli's, auto gyro's, hotliners, pretty much anything and in any configuration.

I have built using mostly balsa construction, but also foam cores bodies and covered with balsa & Fibreglass. I have some thermal experience, and I have been messing around with balsa gliders for years.

I have done a bit of thermal gliding more recently and am looking for a nice scale glider to enjoy on a lazy afternoon. I have done bungee launches, but with a Makis/Slopeblasters Luna 2m, but it is not ideally suited for thermal gliding dues to weight.

I hope this helps. I-care is a too expensive me, at this point, hence the Flyfly model idea. I am happy to purchased 2nd hand, provided it is in good condition.
