I mounted my Arrowind motor on the brodak mount and was disappointed to find the prop adapter doesn't clear the cowl. I thought the Arrowind was a direct bolt in with no need for spacers.

Anyone else using the Arrowind ? Did you need spacers?

Yes, I used spacers, even with a flat back spinner. Takes another extra spacer if your spinner is something like a DuBro that extends back from the back plate mount. The HK EF-1 motor also needs a spacer or two. Spacers are not that big of a problem though. I have some extra left over from a Proud Bird, and I use them as templates to make spacers from 1/32" ply up to 1/4" ply as necessary. That gives you the ability to customize your spinner spacing to your heart's content. Sometimes have to grab the correct length mounting bolts though.

Keep in mind it was designed around not only the Arrowind motor, but also the EFlite aluminum spinner. It works perfectly with that, anything else will have to be custom fit.

OK, I have an E-Flite spinner, so I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Thanks Zonker for the spacer tips.

With my T3025-1500 and Graupner spinner I needed 1/8" spacers, I made them on my lathe from aluminium.
I could still use the stock mounting screws.

I believe Red couldn't make it to the NATS this year. My son Jacob and Myself are going to try and make the journey there in 2015. Jacob prefers the Miss Dara, but as for myself I love the way the Invictus turns and lands.

perhaps there were some there that had been stripped and recovered to make them look different. I can't remember for sure, but I thought there might have been some there.

I was flying an Outrageous (kit built) and my backup was a Wagner Solution (also kit built).

I've tried it, but I found it's to much drag in the turns. Don't get me wrong it will turn around a pylon fast with flaperons. But it seems to stall to much in the turn for me. I try to stay away from having my ailerons move downwards into the high pressure zone on the bottom of the wing. I prefer to have my plane turn hard without digging or ballooning and keep the speed up and the wing out of a high speed stall. I find you recover speed quicker out of the turns this way. But it's just me.

The motor I have chosen is the EF-1 V2 NTM of HK.

Ruyman - you can use any spinner you want, simply use spacers to adjust the motor for proper spacing. Sorry I don't do Spanish for you. -- Milt
