I've ordered the same for my FT-160, but for my other HK Gee Bee i ordered this Great Planes super stearman 1.20 spinner. It looks very good with an huge cowl like that.

This is the new cowl ring. Also called "Magneto"
Four magnet on the ring and on the firewall.
Four pivots on the cowl ring and four holes in the firewall.
It's very strong and firm.
Maybe, next time i'll do another with the magnets near the pivots.

Magnets

What glue did you use for gluing the magnets ? I have had problems in the past with magnets coming out.

Interesting thread, comparing it to my adventures in getting my EP Maxford Gee Bee E/Y bashed to a Y and finally getting it flyable. I have a visible twist in the right wing that cannot be corrected with heat gun, etc., due to carbon fibre tube leading edge and main spar wing structure. I have about 7/8" up-angled right aileron to compensate and it flies well (now). I replaced Chinese E-Z connectors, horns, and pushrods and added scale dummy rigging and Model Y tail bracing, 3-piece windshield and other small details
I think that the Seagull Z has non-scale ailerons to improve aileron authority, it's marginal on my Model Y
