If you tried to upload fw to the Crius using Mission Planner that is your problem. The version of Arducopter that runs on the Crius is a special build called megapirateng.

Go here
http://www.megapirateng.com

Download the flash tool, flash the firmware
Connect to MP and check the baud rate/com port if it hangs.

I am afraid that megapirateng is not an easy introduction to multicopters. As you know in Mission Planner, if you have a supported flight controller, it is easy -- just click on update. But megapirateng is a more difficult route. Also it is a dead end since it is no longer being supported.

But this is a good tutorial if you want to try:
How to load MegapirateNG onto a Crius All in One Pro Flight Controller (0 min 0 sec)

Good Luck

May not be further supported, but I've found it does exactly what is needed. If you have the hex file you can update in MP. Lots of info out there to help setup the AIO.
